Today's Wishlist is a bit shorter than the other short ones lol and may have a repeated item or two lol but it's just because I really want these things!

Fun Fact Friday

     This is my fourth Fun Fact Friday!! I'm soo proud of myself that I;ve been able to keep this up lol I'm surprised that I even remember to write these post every Friday lol Here's to keeping this going! haha

     Sooo this week's I want to share with all of you my love for all things related to sewing!!!! I received my first sewing machine from my gram when I was 18. It's such a great machine; I love it! I make loads of different stuff on it from doggie shirts, to dresses, to phone cases, and etc... It's one of my favorite hobbies next to playing the guitar. I just wish I had the money to finance my hobby lol I would be out buying all sorts of fabrics and bits and bobs to go along with the infinite amount of projects I have lined up in my head lol I love having an outlet like sewing to help release all my creative energy into something amazing!! I'm planning on posting pictures of new projects as I complete them, so stay tuned!! Right now I'm working of a kind of iphone case/cozy key chain thingy lol It's soo fun being able to create this from your own two hands!

Fun Fact Friday

     I have one very "special"(& i don't mean, meaningful) black & purple, nautical star tattooed on my left wrist. It's the first tattoo I've ever gotten, with hopefully more to follow. I received this "special" ink from a former friend whose become a little less than an acquaintance nowadays. I got it done in her basement. When I was 20. Over Spring Break. Without my parents knowing. I got into loads and loads of trouble for it lol I wasn't allowed to leave my house except for school and work for about 2 months!!! haha Its definitely a great story to tell, and that's mostly why I love this tattoo soooo much! Besides the fact that its my first one, it was done by a 'then' friend[my tat was the first legitimate tattoo she had ever done] & it was free!! haha yeah I know I broke all the major rules when it comes to getting tattooed, but honestly I really didn't care. I was being spontaneous and having fun! 

     The tattoo turned out awful(no offense Nic), everyone that sees it thinks its sharpie, then when I tell them its real, they burst out in laughter haha I think its hilarious too. Plus, when I tell them the whole story, there's even more of a reason to laugh. I am planning to get it covered up though, because even though it was my first, its not pretty and I want something else there. Although, sometimes i think about keeping it the way it is, because it is my first tattoo and i feel i should keep around for shits and giggles lol. I have had it for almost a year and a half and I'm not hating it as much as the people who've seen it haha Ohhh well, that's life. And I don't regret a single thing about this tattoo. Oh and here's a photo of it, so you can have a big laugh about it... share it with everyone you know too, i'm positive they'll get a laugh out of it too! I mean seriously, just look at that picture and try not to laugh at how bad it is! hahaha

Wishlist Wednesday

     I'm in a bit of a funk lately, with being unemployed and having no extra money(or any money, really) to spend, I decided that I'd make a giant list of things I want that I can't have at the moment, due to my financial situation. There's no particular theme or order. These items have been written in my notebook for the past couple months.

   I really wish I could just find a job already so I can spend all my hard earned money on all these little things that I don't need, but will make me happier! haha

Sweet Perfection...

     Well, today is one of those Tuesdays, ya' know? When it still feels like Monday but your dying for it to be Friday? Yeah, well I'm definitely having one of those Tuesdays. I woke up much later than I would have like and I hate when that happens because my day feels wasted. But alas, I must move on with my plans for the day. Today is going to consist of: Errands to Wal-mart and a fabric store, walking 3 miles, and attending my little brother's baseball game(His team made it to the Championship game and if they win the game, they win first place in the league!!! I'm sooo proud of him!!)
     Ohh, and if your wondering about the title of this post(Sweet Perfection) its an amazing song by an even more amazing guy. Christofer Drew's, a.k.a. Never Shout Never, song 'Sweet Perfection' is what I'm listening to while I write this and I absolutely love this song, this album(title: Harmony), and this kid(Christofer Drew). His super inspirationally and really down to earth. Give him a listen, HERE!!

Small Town Cupcake

     I'm not sure how many of you know this, but I'm obsessed with baking, especially cupcakes!! So about two months ago I started a baking blog here on blogger and for a while I was extremely committed, almost too committed lol I was posting all these great ideas about 3 to 4 times a day!!

Garden State Hair: handcrafted hair accessories

     I am so super excited to announce the opening of my online hair accessories shoppe called, Garden State Hair: handmade. fabric flower hair accessories; perfect for lovely ladies of all ages!
     I've been making these little babies for a few years now, thanks to my grandma lol but I've never thought about selling them until just recently, probably due to the fact that I am recently unemployed lol. So I'm going to be selling my items through Google Checkout because there's no fees to list any items, unlike Etsy. I originally started my shoppe on Etsy a few days ago, but realized that I wouldn't be able to finance the listing fees : / So for right now, I'm using google.
     All my items can be found right here on my blog!! There's a link in the Navi bar titled, Garden State Hair, where you can browse, shop and purchase some of my flower hair accessories!! This is the first time I'm doing anything like this in my life, aside from the lemonade stand i had when I was like 6 lol, so there's going to be lots of trial and error with this whole process. Mainly because its brand new to me, so I'm just asking that all of you bare with me lol but I'm sure it won't be too bad.

Love that Lavender Blonde..

I was crazy busy yesterday driving all over north jersey running errands with mi madre. And it was not fun! The weather was beautiful, but it was 100˚ degrees outside and the air was sooo thick; it felt almost impossible to even breathe! I just wanted to relax in the nice cold A/C, or even in my pool if it was open.

 Most of the errands we ran were for my mom's business. She runs an A/C, Heating and Refrigeration Business, so the summer is crazy busy for her. Especially on days like yesterday where the temps were reaching 100˚ degrees!! The phone was ringing off the hook! I honestly don't know how she manages to do it all, literally! Between running her business, taking care of household duties and than running kids all over the place for their activities, she's definitely super woman!

    After we took care of all the business stuff, we headed to K&G Fashions, a discount clothing store that sells mostly suits for men, woman and children, plus evening wear. We have a family wedding to attend on June 18th & 19th, so my mom had some shopping to do for her self. I went about the store on my own, just looking around for anything interesting.

     Then as i made my way further threw the store, I came across the bags and purses(my favorite section, along with shoes!) And I found the most amazing bag since betsey johnson's bags lol it's black with gold studs!! my favorite style! I love the edginess of it. And it vegan-friendly!! WIN!! The bag is made by Urban Expressions. I've never heard of them before, but being the vegetarian that i am, I love to vegan-friendly accessories and clothing! Definitely going to be looking them up on the interweb!

Fun Fact Friday!

  
     This is only my second "Fun Fact Friday," so there are a lot of facts that I want to post and share with all of my readers(who will hopefully turn into followers!! j/s!) I decided to share with all of you today my borderline insane, obsession with all things Harry Potter!
     It's crazy to think that at one point in my life, I actually hated Harry Potter and thought that anyone who read the books was the biggest nerd on the planet. What can i say i was 11. Thankfully, 10 years ago this coming November, my school took my 6th grade class on a field trip to see the first film, "Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone," and ever since than I've been in love!
    I grew up with these films and books and each year I've waited for the new book/movie to be released, like a 5 year old waiting for christmas morning! I absolutely love every single one of the books and movies, with the 6th book and movie being my favorite ones out of all of them!!![well for now, until the 8th movie comes out lol] I honestly can't say one bad thing about the series that disappoints me, expect for the very unrealistic fact that i wish they went on forever and never ended!! But alas that'd be impossible! I will forever cherish these past 10 years growing up with Harry, Ron, Hermione and all the other truly unforgettable characters that i've grown to know and love!! to me its as if they are great friends, even if they aren't real. hahaha wow i'm such a creep!
    Any way, this is my Fun Fact Friday and I hope you all enjoyed reading about my obsession with Harry Potter!

to wordpress or NOT to wordpress?

     Is blogger driving anyone else completely insane!?!? I'm about ready to toss my laptop violently across the room!! This is ridiculous!! Everything that could go wrong while I'm trying to post or edit my blog, happens! And I'm getting extremely frustrated! It's been like this literally all dayyyy!!!! i hate to to say it, but i think i'm over blogger.
     I'm seriously considering switching over to wordpress unless blogger gets its act together! I've read other posts from other bloggers facing the same question, like Kaelahbee. When I first heard of people wanting to switch, I though they were speaking nonsense, because I'd never had the problems they were having. But i guess i spoke too soon : / because every time I try to post today and even the past few days, blogger was acting all sorts of crazy!
     I think I'm just gonna take the big leap and switch to wordpress tonight!! I know its crazy because I don't even really know how to use wordpress that well but i'm hoping its better than what I've been dealing with! I don't know though, maybe i should wait on blogger to get itself together again?

boston bound, I WISH!

I'm a little bitter today. My youngest sister is boston bound (!!!!) with her school for a class trip! She'll be there till tomorrow night, and i've never been this much of a jelly sandwich(i.e. jealous person lol) in my whole life!
I went on the same trip with the same school when i was 13, and it was hands down the best "mini-vacation" i've ever had! It was also the first time I'd been away from my family and i loved it!! (Even if it was only for two days.) I loved everything Boston had to offer; the people, the food, the attractions, and just the atmosphere as a whole! I love big citites, hence the gratefulness i have for living soooo close to the big apple, and Boston was just beautiful! (My love for Boston is very uncommon for a Jersey girl lol but what can I say Boston stole my heart!!) I haven't been there is almost 10 years!!!! And i miss it so much! My mom and i were actually considering going up there while my sister was there just because my mom has never been and she really wants to go. Although i pretty positive she won't enjoy it, because she hates big cities with a firey passion! hahaha no exaggeration there either lol she's absolutely hates big cities haha but it'd be fun to see how she'd respond to the atmosphere of Boston haha but alas, we did not go, because my mom runs her own business and it would have been impossible to pry her away from her computer lol
I was soo tempted to just drive up there by myself if i had too! Especially this week and next, because the Boston Bruins are in the Stanley Cup Finals and being the huge hockey fan that i am, I would love to be in the center of all that hockey mania!! But with absolutely no money to fund my spontaneous trip, i am stuck in jersey : / That's just one of the downsides to unemployment, i guess! I'm determined to get my self back to Boston, come hell or high water! So I'm actually planning a some weekend trip, maybe three or four days, for the end of summer! I'M SO EXCITED!!!!! I really can't wait to go back, especially because I'm 21 now so I'll be able to grab a beer at the famous, CHEERS bar!!!! I wanted to go there soo badly when I went with my school in 7th grade, but it wasn't on our agenda. Yet , my very lucky sister is having lunch there tomorrow! ughhhhhh, just adding some more jelly to that sandwich!
I hope she has a really good time being there with her friends! My trip to Boston is still my favorite trip of all time! And i'm sickly obsessed with Disney World, and I still say Boston was the best trip ever! There's literally soo much to do there between historical attractions to just exploring the little stuff that Bean Town has to offer! If you haven't been to Boston, I HIGHLY recommend you take visit there! you'll definitely fall in love with the city! i promise!! Just thinking about going back there makes me feel like a five year old waiting for christmas morning! haha So yeah, if you haven't been, please take my word for it and give it a visit! You won't regret it!

name change.. again!

     I'm really sorry about being so annoying with these name change posts! I swear I never meant to intentionally go through all these blog name changes! But I just didn't really feel like the previous two blog titles really related what my blog is about. So I finally changed it to one that i am positive is going to stick!! 
    The NEW title for my blog is: "my (Garden State) of mind" I absolutely love it!! I really wanted a name that described me and what my blog is all about so that anyone who stumbles upon it has some sort of idea as to what my blog has to offer. So obviously being a jersey girl, and living in new jersey since before i was born lol I knew that this title was perfect for me! (Sorry, again, for this very messy post by the way! I'm in a bit of a hurry and I just really wanted to explain the name change for everyone before i forgot too!)
     This is it! the name that will stay! I'm soo excited for this! I was looking over my blog right after i finalized all the changes that go along with  the title change, and I have to say I have never loved/been more proud of my blog before in my life! lol that's a little extreme sounding, but its so true! I can't wait to keep you all updated on my everyday nonsense here in Jersey!

PRODUCT REVIEW: Nair Milk & Honey Roll On Wax

     Alright ladies (and gents?), we all have the same issues to deal with when it comes to maintaining silky smooth legs. How do we get them to last!? And how do we get the process to be less grueling!? Well I absolutely hate shaving my legs! Its super annoying and takes foreverrrrrrr!!! Ughh! I'm getting angry just thinking about it! And the fact that we have to not only deal with nicks and razor burn, but also having to repeat the grueling process multiple times a week is irksome to say the least!

     Thanks to the very smart people at Nair, I've found the solution to all my issues with shaving, and maybe some of yours! The Nair Milk & Honey Roll On Wax is ingenious!! It's a waxing kit, obvs. and it includes waxing stripes and the container has a roll on device attached to it for super easy application! All you have to do it microwave the wax for 10-15 seconds, roll on the wax, apply a stripe on top, pull and voíla! you have silkly smooth skin!!

     I was never a big fan of waxing in the past, especially my legs because I've heard it can be quite painful! But I was desperate for something that would make me less aggravated when it came to maintaining hairless and smooth skin! And honestly, girl to girl, the pain was seriously not bad at all! I thought it would be a hundred times worse but it was just a tiny, stinging feeling.
     If you haven't tried waxing before, Nair Milk & Honey Roll On Wax is absolutely the best beginners kit, because of how easy it is to use. One of the best parts is that it lasts up to 8 weeks!! That had me sold right away! Also, it's rather reasonable in price; costing about 9 bucks! Way less than any salon will offer!

 I highly suggest using Nair Milk & Honey Roll On Wax. Its the best thing since sliced bread lol. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the aggravation by trying this product out! You'll never resort back to shaving ever again! Seriously, this stuff is amazing!

outfit post... a first for me!

  
     I'm so excited about doing outfit posts on my blog! My style changes like the weather! lol and I want to have a place where I can document all my outfits from time to time. Now I am not the most fashionable person out there, but I have my moments where even I surprise my self with my style haha I'm not trying to impress anyone with theses posts, there mostly for myself, but if anyone happens to like them along the way, well that's absolutely fine by me!
     So here's what I wore. This is an photo from yesterday. I was running lots of errands with my mom for her business and I actually ended up sitting the car most of the time lol but it was fun none the less. It was very sunny out, but the wind was a bit chilly so I wore my black cardi(Target) and some leggings(Target; my go-to item of clothing; seldom do I not wear legging lol) I love love love this dress that I snagged at Target last year. I love the almost greenish-grey color and the ruffles with lace! so dainty and pretty. I'm not big on accessories unless they are for my hair lol however I was in a bit of a rush, so there was literally no time to tend to my wild mane! So i just resorted to a simple ponytail lol.

First Ever: Fun Fact Friday!

     Good morning lovelies! I have loads of running around to do today! I  have a wedding to attend in two weeks with my family and lots of little bits and bobs still need to get finished. I just sent my dress to be altered yesterday and I also bought some shoes to wear with it. I absolutely dread going to weddings; it's definitely not my cup of tea. Any way, I will be going all over the place with my mom today trying to get as much done as possible.
     So I will leave you with my first ever FUN FACT FRIDAY!!

     Well Today's first ever Fun Fact Friday is... That I am one of six(6) children! Yes, all from the same mom and dad! lol I find it funny when people ask me that; yes, my parents have six children together lol. I am the second child behind my oldest brother who is 22. I am, however, the first girl and first granddaughter; I'm 21. Then there's my first younger sister who's 20 and after her comes my youngest sister who's 13. After the girls is the younger boys, who are 10 and 8. It's a pretty big family and although they drive me insane at times, there's never a dull moment in our house! 

     So there you have it, my first ever Fun Fact Friday!! It was fun to do this and i'm hoping to keep at it as long as I can remember to post hahaha well until next time friends, have an awesome weekend!

Inspiration Board to the Rescue!

     I've been feeling really down about my self for a really long while now. I have my good days where I think to myself, "it's not that bad" but most days are pretty depressing to put it simply. I hate feeling this way about myself, because I really want to be able to wake up everyday and honestly say that I love myself, but it's just so hard, if not impossible! I don't understand why I'm like this! it's mind boggling, I swear! I just feel like my life is going now where and that I'm forever stuck where I am. it's like everyone around me is progressing and moving forward with there hopes and dreams, making them realities and here I am, living at home again, hoping and dreaming of better days where everything I want will eventually become reality. now I know this isn't going to change over night and that I must work for what I want. I understand that completely! however, it's just that no matter what I do I just feel like I'm still going absolutely no where!! why is this my life! where did I go wrong!?!? how can I fix my life to be what I've always wanted it to be!?
      I'm thinking of making an inspiration board to help me see where i want to go and to help me stay focused and determined to achieve all my goals!! I feel like this is going to be very helpful for me to keep my motivation going strong! I've been hearing about inspiration boards a lot over the past couple of weeks and finally started planning my own! I just simply wrote down all the little bits and bobs i want to incorporate into my inspiration board. Most of them are lifestyle changes and mental notes to stay positive and happy. I'm currently tackling probably my biggest obstacle, my weight! I just cringe at the thought of it! But its something I've been wanting to change for a very long while now, but i just never find the motivation to do something about it. I'm hoping my inspiration board will spark a fire under my bum and get me moving in the right directions in life! My laziness is another problem that I really need to change if I want to achieve any of my goals. Laziness is like a virus I just can not get rid of, but I've been working on a little bit here and there. I really need to just face it head on and change my lazy ways. Also, I have a bit of a self esteem issue i guess you could say. I never thought I had one because i always told my self I didn't, but I've come to terms with the fact that I may actually have issues with my self that i really want/NEED to fix! These are just a few of many issues that will be addressed via my inspiration board.
     I'm really excited about starting this little project! I hope i'm going to be able to stay motivated and focused on all my goals! I'm thinking of posting photos once its done. Then I'm thinking I'll post updates on how I'm doing with all my goals, like when I reached them, how I'm feeling, etc... I really think this is going to be the start of something truly wonderful! I'm so very excited to be sharing this news with all of you!

W. What makes you run late: hmm thinking i have more time when i really don't, or traffic. there's always massive amounts of traffic when i need o be somewhere! ughhhh, frustrating!

Z. Zoo animal: Siberian Tigers!!! i love them to pieces! ever since i was little, they've always been my favorite!

june first!

     Such a lovely, lovely day it is today! Ahhh, the first of June! its just rolls of the tongue with such ease and happiness! Summer is officially in full swing and I seriously could not be more pleased! So what comes along with summer other than, no school and trips to the beach? That's right, LOTS of cute summer clothes and accessories!! Shopping for a summer wardrobe has to be one of my most favorite things to do when summer finally rolls around. Although my wallet my not always be so happy, it's definitely an investment toward making summer fabulous!

     My absolute favorite summer pieces are sun dresses and wedge sandals! I buy loads of them each summer, year after year, they never cease to deliver! They're simple and always affordable! My two favorite things when it comes to choosing a wardrobe! I also have a weakness for sunglasses, flip flops, huge tote bags, and fun accessories for my hair! This summer I'm actually attempting to make my own hair accessories! Its been working out rather well so far, once I master making them I'll post some photos!

     Target is my go to store for absolutely everything! I'm there probably two to three times a week! I have a slight addiction, you could say lol Any who, Target offers awesome deals on summer staple pieces that you just can't live without! So instead of paying those outrageous department store prices this summer, try the wallet friendly alternative and still look amazing! Also, some other great priced stores are, Forever 21, H&M, Love Culture and even Walmart has some great finds for great prices! So be sure to check those places out for your summer wardrobe!

     Another great source of inspiration is lookbook! Its an awesome website where tons and tons of the most fashionable people post pics of there fabulous outfits! I love visiting lookbook and becoming inspired by what people post. It makes getting dressed in the morning afternoon more fun lol So I highly suggest looking around lookbook for some summer inspirations for your wardrobe.
