crafting up christmas presents!

Christmas is upon us at last! It's my favorite time of year! And I usually suck at getting everyone presents on time, or at all. I legit run out of time to buy gifts for all my loved ones and they end up getting nothing. I know! It's horrible, i'm horrible! So that's why i've decided that I'm going to craft up some christmas gifts this year. I've already started with my first little project that I'm actually super excited about. I'm making Christmas ornaments for my grandma and my two aunts. I took a trip to Michael's craft store and didn't go as crazy over board as I always do. Trust me when I say I could spend my whole paycheck on one trip to that glorious establishment. But not this time. I walked out spending under 20 bucks(!!!) for everyones gifts. I got 8 glass ornaments, paint and paint brushes. It was a very successful trip if i do say so my self.
I'm going to post some photos below to show you guys what I've been working on this weekend. I'm pretty sure I'm going to be making another trip there very soon to buy some more ornaments, because honestly I'm not sure how I want to make these so its going to be lots of trial and error until I know what looks really special. I might even post a DIY for all you crafty christmas people out there! Look out for that this weekend, if I get all my assignments done that is! Oh the life of a college student who'd rather be spending her time crafting up awesomeness! lol enjoy the photos!

So these are the ones I've made so far. I'm not completely in love with them, so they may just end up on the back of my Christmas tree, but we'll see!

Do you make homemade Christmas gifts?
If so, please feel free to share!
I'd love to hear about your crafting!

a musical story...

ever since I was a little kid, I was super interested in music. My dream at age 8 or 9 was to be a drummer. My parents got me my first ever keyboard for my 8th birthday. It was the coolest gift I ever received. I was soo excited to learn how to play. At first I just listened to the pre-set songs and pretended to know what I was doing. it took me about a year to learn my first few songs which included 'happy birthday' and 'silent night,' which I played for my whole family one Chirstmas Eve. As I got older, I continued to self -teach myself how to play the keyboard, although I liked to learn songs that were meant to be played on a piano lol I was soo proud of myself that I learned to play the keyboard by myself and the age of like 9 years old. And I'm still super proud of myself today! I started itching to learn the guitar in high school, but being the naive girl I was, I had to do and be what every1 else was. [i regret that about myself so much] I finallyade it to college, where I honestly feel ive truly become myself. For my 20th birthday, I got my very first guitar! A black acoustic/electric Ibanez guitar!! It's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. I, once again, taught myself how to play the guitar. I learned my first song with in a few weeks. and then I began to learn songs from artist I really liked, like NeverShoutNever[my idol/Hero], Hey there Delilah, Boys like girls and so on. I've begun to learn the basic, which I learned when I first got my guitar almost two years ago. But I'm going baks to the basics so that I can truly play the guitar for real! I never realised how much I truly love playing the guitar, I just feel right. Sooo many lyrics, thoughts, ideas come to my head and it helps to deal with soo much. I have a lot on plate for a really long time ad playing music helps me deal even if it's only for a little while. Im really excited about the future and where my love for music will take me. I hope somewhere incredible. It's always been a secret dream of mine to go on tour, like in a band. That would be amazing!!

I can't tell you were my love for all things music comes from. Neither one of my parents is musical, and I love my mom to death but the woman can not sing for her life. I'm pretty sure my grandparents are in the same boat as my parents. I mean honestly I tell myself that I have this love for music because I was born on Elvis Presley's birthday[January 8th] But I mean that's just a little silly thing I tell myself, and is so bad that half believe its true lol

I don't care where my love for music comes from, and I'm discovering that my love grows more and more every year it seems like. When I was younger I wanted to be a lawyer or a teacher. I didn't think at all about pursuing music. But I've been considering a career in the music industry since high school now. All I know is that [cliché saying] life is seriously way too short to be spending a large part of it doing something that you don't like doing. I just want to live my life toy fullest potential and just do whatever it is I want. It'sy life and I only have this one to lead so I'm going to enjoy the little things and live my dreams because that all that we have in the end.

Do you have a passion for music? Myabe something else? Do share, I'd love to hear about it! : D

Remember to live for YOU and absolutely nobody else!!

I'm still selling beautifully overpriced papers and invitations to the masses and furthering education [yes, i'm still in college -_-] at my local community college. I've been recently reconnecting with some long lost friends who i havent know very long but have definitely made an impression on me. I truly happy reconnecting with friends and doing things that normal 21 year old college kids do lol.

Summer Time Adventures

I know, I know!! I'm a failure! I promised to post about some super awesome stuff that been going on this summer, but I seriously have not time with work(growing up is not fun) and now school's starting on Tuesday(!!!) Plus, with the Hurricane that the East coast experience, I was lucky I had electricity... my internet was down for about 2 days! I am soo thankful that that was he worse part about the storm for me, because soo many people were not as lucky.  Hope everyone is safe and recovering from the Hurricane, if you were affected by its destruction.

Now to the less serious stuff! I've been managing to fit in some fun stuff in between work. Like seeing all 8 Harry Potter films back to back(!!!!) & at the same exact theater in the same exact theater room (room #1) as I saw the first film when it came out in November of 2001 on a school field trip!!! It was very cool that it happened that way and made the experience that much more memorable.
My review for the Final Installment to the Harry Potter series is one that I have decided not to post about. Why you may ask? It's quite simple really. My review would be far too biased because I have been a fan since (almost) the very beginning and anything I say about, honestly, might not be truthful. I still to this day say that Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part 2 is and will always be, along with the other films in the series, the best movies ever made on the planet!! And no other movie will ever changed my opinion. See how biased that was!!! So I cease to review the film in detail and just move on to my next topic! haha

Warped Tour 2011!!!!!!!!! WHO WENT!?!? ANYONE!?!? its okay if you didn't, and if you did, LET'S BE BEST FRIENDS!! haha okay so as you can tell Warped Tour has been the highlight of my summers for the past four years now. I love the atmosphere and seeing my favorite bands and in one place surrounded by people who have the same reason for being there as you do! Its awesome!! I saw some amazing bands, like Black Veil Brides, Attack Attack!, August Burns Red, and one of my absolute favorites- A Day To Remember!!!! and on top of it all, I got to see my favorite bands with my bestest best friend in the whole world!!!!!! She my other half-literally!! Without her life would not be nearly as awesome as it is with her in it!!!

Well those are the two major events of my summer! I apologize that it took this long for me to share it all with you but my free time is almost non-existent at the moment. I'm gonna try to post once a week because I seriously have no other time to do it lol

Happy Labor Day Weekend all!!!! be same and enjoy the last weekend of summer!!!! (That's sooo bittersweet to say)

What amazingly awesome stuff have you done this summer? Do tell! I'd love to hear about all your summer time adventures!
