On Tuesday, I took probably the shortest trip into NYC with my mom & dad. I forgot how much I really love the city and all it has to offer. I always imagined myself living in the city after I graduated high school to study design. But, alas, life had other plans for me and I'm not mad about that either. I like where I'm at in life at this moment. Although, I still hope to live in the city, even if just for a little while.
Back to my city story, I didn't have that great of an adventure in NY, but it was still lots of fun. Tuesday was the last day of my vacation from work, so I'm happy I was able to do something out of the ordinary, and spend time with my parents.
My dad actually had some work to do, hence the reason we ventured into the city that day, so while he went to work, my mom and I drove around looking for something yummy to eat... and after 40 minutes of driving all over midtown, and seeing all that 5th Ave. has me dreaming about, we actually ended up right back where we started.
[You can laugh, it's quite funny] We found an 'okay' pizzeria two doors down from where my dad was working and decided to enjoy a slice. The pizza was just average in my opinion and nothing like how people know NY pizza to be. But it was fun to spend time with my mom and get some good laughs in while she was trying her best to navigate her way through the streets of NY.
Sorry there's no pictures of my day, but I wasn't there that long and was having too much fun to think of taking pictures. But no worries, I plan on visiting again next weekend, so I'll absolutely be sure to take lots of pictures then!
----------------------------------------------------
I'm always baffled by the fact that It only takes me a good 20 minutes or so to get into NYC from my house, and yet I seldom visit that wondrous city.So I made sure to make a mental list of places I want to visit next weekend [I have some family grad parties to attend this weekend so I can't go] with my sister and some friends. There's like 20+ Irish pubs I *must* go to! I'm obsessed, [as most of you know] with Irish/British culture, so any time I find a pub, I must visit lol As well, I want to visit my company's retail store in the city and also some of my customer's retail locations. Being that I only converse with them via telephone and have yet to meet them in person. I was sick for the National Stationery Show, so I couldn't attend and I missed out on meeting everyone...there's always next year though! Plus, I'm sure once we're in the city, we'll find a hundred more things to do!
The city is such an exciting and adventurous place to be. When I'm there, i feel like I can seriously do anything! Such a powerful feeling to have. If you have yet to visit NYC, I *highly* suggest that you make plans to do so sometime soon, because the city is an amazing place in of itself, but there's nothing like new york in the summertime!
If you've been to the city before, what's your favorite places to visit? Any good restaurants? Favorite thing to do? Let me know so I can add them to my list for my next visit!
Have a lovely Thursday all!
